5 Reasons To Use An Opt In Box If You're Not Right Now


Did you know there is a method of marketing that is free. When I say free I mean you can send an email to hundreds, thousands, maybe even tens of thousands of people for free. It's possible and more service based businesses and even big time businesses need to use it.

This is accomplished using an opt in box. An opt in box is simply a form that a suspect will use to sign up for a newsletter, a free report, video, audio, trial... something... but in doing so they provide their contact information. Put this to work on a large scale and you can generate a database of tons of subscribers.

Reason 1: Capture your prospects contact information

You won't literally be capturing them. They will actually give you their contact information in return for what you're offering them. Now you have their contact info, you can email them and direct them back to your site.

The chances of a visitor coming back to your site all on their own are practically zero. So capture their contact information with an opt in form.

Reason 2: Direct your prospects back to your site

I am going to say something obvious... a prospect is not a customer, but they can be. Now that you have their contact information you can drive them back to your site. The reason could be information to learn, a sale to take advantage of, a free offer of some sort, or anything that will benefit them.

The more you talk to them and provide useful information, the more likely they will begin to visit your site more often and buy from you.

Reason 3: Segment your customer list

You already have a huge customer list, or at least you should... or... if you are brand new then you need to start building one. But the point is you can start talking with your customers and finding out what they want from you.

The old rule of selling is... find out what the people want and give it to them. You can create many different opt in forms that all build different lists to help segment people that are interested in different parts of you business.

Reason 4: To get their physical address

I bet you didn't see that recommendation coming. When you collect their email addresses and start communicating with them... you'll be building a strong relationship with them. Now you need to take them offline.

By getting their physical addresses for either their homes of their businesses... you can send targeted direct mail to them. It's proven that target mail to a list you have a relationship with is 400% more likely to close. You can even use the phones.

Reason 5: To build that relationship

I mentioned this but haven't said anything about it really. This is the biggest benefit of using an opt in form and capturing people's contact information. You can build a relationship with them and earn their trust.

Earning a prospects trust in this day and age is more valuable than anything else. This ensures that when their ready to do business, they'll do it with you. It means that they will help you spread the word about your business and get that viral selling message going.

Using an opt in form and collecting your prospects contact information is HUGE... so do it know. Even if you don't quite understand everything about it... just do it. Go Google Aweber and use them to manage the list. You also will need high converting copy to sell your prospect and ensure they opt in... so... call me!
