Three Reasons You Need To Use A Lead Magnet... Newsletters Won't Do
I recently was speaking with a service professional. I won't tell you exactly what he does, because it's highly likely, he will read this article. However, this person was not used to collecting email addresses and had an issue with the idea of using a lead magnet.
The market this person works in changes rapidly. He didn't want to create a report and have it only be good for 2 to 3 weeks. While this is a somewhat valid point... he is missing one very important piece of information...
1. Immediate Satisfaction
The lead magnet doesn't need to be evergreen... good forever. It just needs to excite the prospect and get them to give you their email address. It'll work regardless because it provides the prospect with immediate satisfaction.
Selling just a newsletter is almost like a let down these days. The general Internet prospect knows that newsletters are everywhere and most don't provide a single piece of useful information... but... a free audio interview... that just might.
It has a high perceived value and they get access to it immediately. If you wet their appetite correctly, they will want to see this now. Hence you get the email address... mission accomplished. Lead magnets are also extremely powerful because...
2. Instant Trust Building
Just the fact that you are giving away something with value... for free... builds trust. A prospect looks to you as the expert and somebody who knows what they're talking about.
Add the fact that you particular lead magnet will be extremely high quality information and that just adds to this initial trust. Make your lead magnet something the prospect can apply to their business easily and they'll want more from you.
So even if your lead magnet is good for just a couple weeks... it can still b highly valuable to the prospect. And you can also change it. Finally, you lead magnet will force one more vital action to happen...
3. Looking Forward For More
After your prospect reads your lead magnet, they will want more... and more usually means they will want to buy something. Even after a purchase, they will want more as long as the product was good.
In a service business like real estate, a lead magnet will keep that prospect coming back to you for more information. They'll want to know how to profit from your information and they will keep signing up to get future reports, interviews, or whatever you choose to give away.
Let these three reasons you need to continue to use lead magnets convince you to make one. They are usually very easy to make. Hire a copywriter to help you create on and you can interlace a crafty sales message in your report.
Prime them to make a purchase by the end of the report.
